Limoncello 04:56
Limoncello ©2008 Richard Steinmeyer You come here all the time And you know all the faces And you think that you can free them And you feel that you must save us But I say to you, my friend It will not matter in the end Yes, I say to you my friend You must relax, relax Because these things that you say, They do not bother me… You worry about the government And you fret about the air You talk for miles about the economy And then you talk about your lily white hair Well, I say “What is it all for?” and “Why do you do these crazy things?” I do not understand at all, No, no I do not understand These things you say, They do not bother me… You run around all over town With your hands held to the sky Always asking to the Lord, “Why, why, why, why, why?” Well, I will tell you what to do Just take your self downtown Walk in through that red door And gather all your friends around you Tell that man behind the counter (with a wide and toothy grin) To pour you out your pleasure (for me, I’ll have limoncello!) Now, raise your glass up high And toast to all your friends. Raise your glass up higher now And shout into the wind “Skåltamesaltannnnnnnnnnnn!!!”

Someone's in the kitchen, cookin' Hoppin' John Bet yer bottom dollar that the stereo is on. Homeless boys are pullin' strings down from the attic. Startin' as a trio, soon came number four Five, then six and seven, eight and even more Some are gone, some are back, and some are still in transit. A tuneless old piano, right against the stairs Ghosts are in the closet, songs are in the air Music was a hobby, it soon became a habit When we began to wobble, somewhere over Abbott Accordions and bagpipes, flutes and other things Banjo, bass, a mandolin - and half a million strings In very tiny spaces, we made quite a racket. In pubs, sometimes clubs, even wedding halls Thursday nights, Christmas Eve, whenever muses call Melody's a golden ring, let's reach out and grab it! A tuneless old piano, right against the stairs Ghosta are in the closet, songs are in the air Music was a hobby, it soon became a habit When we began to wobble, somewhere over Abbott And don't ya think it's funny? Without alcohol and honey, things might never have been the same. Or at least, we'd have a different name... Friends come out to see us, we love to watch 'em dance We don't share any blood, but we are a family band Rooted in the floorboards where greyhounds might be nappin' A tuneless old piano, right against the stairs Ghosts are in the closet, songs are in the air Music was a hobby, it soon became a habit When we began to wobble, somewhere over Abbott....

Walking down the road I saw a big face Walking down the road At my own lovely pace Walking down the road Yeah there’s that big face I had me some wine so I gave it a taste Walking down that road (4X) Walking down that road Cause the bars had all closed Walking down that road I had nowhere to go Walking down that road Yeah the bars had closed They said get out you bastards it’s time to go home Walking Down that Road (4X) Walking down that road And I tell you no lies Walking down the road much to my surprise Walking down that road yes I tell you no lies You weren’t wearing no clothes and neither was I! Walking down that road (4X)

Red Door 03:00
When you walk in through the red door Better leave your soul behind Cause you’re dancing with the devil tonight He’ll take you buy the hand and buy another round And all the while he’ll tell you that everything’s all right And it’s 1, 2, 3 can I have another please Another would make me feel alright And it’s 4, 5, 6 you’d better pour another quick Cause we’re dancing with the devil tonight So take your seat with the philosophers and thieves And be sure to hold your glass really tight Cause the benches are rocking and the tables are on fire And you won’t be doing much thinking tonight You know it’s good to be dancing on the tables You know it’s good to be dancing in the rain You know it’s good to be dancing with all your friends And it’s good to be hammered in the brain Now God loves a thinker but the devil’s a drinking man He’s gonna keep your glass filled all night So slam it down he’ll buy another round And you won’t be doing much thinking tonight

I put it down, right here, just now. Then, it disappeared somehow. It's absence I just can't allow! Where The Hell's My Coffee?!? That waitress put our order in All morning, I've been yearnin'. What's that I smell burnin'? Where the Hell's My Coffee?!? Oh, give me a cup of that roasted stuff, don't forget sugar and milk. It'll soothe yer soul, It'll keep you up- Sweet as daisies, smooth as silk. I'm standing in the grocery shop. All the sudden, time has stopped - My favorite brand is out of stock(!) Where the Hell's My Coffee?!? (Stir it up, Timmy!) Oh, give me a cup of that roasted stuff, don't forget sugar and milk. It'll soothe yer soul, It'll keep you up- Sweet as daisies, smooth as silk. Of the dark beans powers, you might express dismay, but I'll be up for hours. I been clocked at 20 cups a day... Now, I don't drink that booze no mo' But, I gotta get warmed up for the show- I don't do speed, said "No" to Blow, so- Where The Hell's My Coffee?!?

When seated with good company And laughter at the table The time is passed with raised glass And many fancy fables But as the hours pass And the fables they unwind Unraveling into tales told With bellies full of wine And we dance…so….SWEETLY We dance…so…..SWEETLY Tales of wandering through the wilderness On the deepest blackest nights And bands of wicked creatures Out searching for delights They march into the forest With bottles by their side And trudge across that musty loam And stare up at the sky And dance….so….SWEETLY And dance….so….SWEETLY And they step into the clearing For here it will begin They shake off all their clothing And tear off all their skin And dance like maddening dead men They dance like maddening dead men They dance like maddening dead men Like skeletons in the night And dance....soooooo.....SWEETLY And dance...soooooo....SWEETLY

*** GLORIOUSLY WASTED *** by: Richard Steinmeyer ©2006 It’s long past midnight now, and everything is still And on the air is drifting a most forbidding chill A ghost like fog approaches and dances in our view And we can’t remember any of the things we thought we knew And this whiskey we’ve been drinking has left us out to dry And the harder that we try to think, the more thoughts pass us by So we sit here in our stupor and take another sip And with each drop, farther down this ladder we will slip And we try to recollect what it was we want to say But everything gets hazy and starts to fade away All that we are sure of are these bottles in our grip So we bring the whiskey to our lips and take another sip It’s long past three a.m. and we are drinking still And we have lost all sanity, all reason and all will Just before we pass out, we’ve a glorious observation We feel at one with everything in this whole damn creation So we strip off every stitch of clothes and howl into the night We run and laugh and dance and sing out in the full moonlight We can’t remember who we are and in truth we do not care Because right now we are everything and we are everywhere Now the whiskey that was drinking us has taken us away And we know that for our revelry the piper we must pay so let’s drop a dram to dear old Pan for this mystery we’ve tasted And celebrate for you and I are gloriously wasted… Yes this Whiskey that’s been drinking us has taken us away And we know that for our revelry the piper we must pay So, lets drop a dram to dear old Pan for this mystery we’ve tasted Cause’ right now you and I, my friends, we are all gloriously wasted…x3
